This is me. My name is Solomon. You may be here because you are familiar with my last blog, “Me In a Car with Three 21-Year-Olds”, because we are Facebook friends, because you are a friend of a friend, or because of one of the misleading sexual/occult tags that I always put on my posts. At any rate, welcome. My life is currently falling apart, but I am cautiously optimistic. Part of my life falling apart has involved my moving into a house known locally as The Shark Tank with three young fellows. None of them are actually 21 (only one of the individuals in the fabled car of my former blog was actually that age), but that doesn’t matter. Twenty-one represents something very important: everyone in the universe who is younger than me. I am 34. I have a band called Ahura Mazda.
Allow me to introduce you to the dramatis personae:
Declan is a recent University graduate and a fixture of the local music scene. We’ve known each other for a couple of years…we met at the University of Rochester library while he was still an undergrad. We recently went on tour together. Very talented and nice as hell. Wears boots.
Stefano is a photographer (he was actually an official Fest photographer this year, if you follow that sort of thing). I don’t know him very well yet but he seems very nice. Big strong type, with a mustache.
I really don’t know Paul at all yet. In the couple of brief conversations we’ve had he has come across as courteous and phlegmatic. I believe he is also a photographer. Maybe he goes to R.I.T.? He inhabits the “Upper Decker”, or third floor, of the Shark Tank.
So this will be a place to chronicle what is proving to be one of the weirdest times in my life. Hopefully it will move in a direction that is generally redemptive. But I dunno. Things are weird, as I say. More soon.
